The other day I found myself asking: “How do I effectively pray for Ukraine and Russia?” The Lord reminded me how, 30 years ago my family and I were preparing to take shelter and flee from what was about to become a gruesome six-year war in Bosnia & Hercegovina. At the time I did not really know God, I knew of Him but did not know Him. I did not know of His love, peace, protection, and provision. I did not know He died for me and that He longed to have a relationship with me.
I often hear how grandmothers/fathers and great grandmothers/fathers prayed for the salvation of their loved ones, and I’ve wondered ”Lord, how did you get a hold of me, how did you find me?” And it hit me that, while my family and I were fleeing a war the church and the body of Christ that was watching on the news what was going on in Bosnia at the time and was praying for us – just like we are today for Ukraine and Russia. You may never know the results of your prayers, but I am here to tell you that they are effective: Because I was saved because of those prayers.
I want to encourage you to pray and pray often. If you don’t know what to pray just speak His name and His word, and in your boldness, you will awaken the next generation of strong and mighty believers in both Ukraine and Russia. I know this to be a fact because 30 years ago this was my reality and today it is my testimony. written by Sanja Mandir Shetley
I speak the name of Jesus over you
In your hurting, in your sorrow I will ask my God to move
I speak the name 'cause it's all that I can do
In desperation, I'll seek Heaven
And pray this for you
I pray for your healing, that circumstances would change
I pray that the fear inside would flee in Jesus name
I pray that a breakthrough would happen today
I pray miracles over your life in Jesus name
In Jesus name
